What makes the difference between two super hero movies? Nowadays there are so many!! I think that there are those where super heroes are victims and those where they are impowered! Batman has the power, Spiderman too: they make their costumes and decide to go in the streets and fight! Xmen are in between, Hulk is a victim etc, etc
In Push like in the series Heroes their power come from evolution and the heroes become a specie, so there are two choices : disppearing or spreading!
The script is one thing, the execution is another one. I wrote previously ( about let the right one in) that vampire stories tend to get more and more postmodern, SH stories are even worse, but this one start from the beginning, explaining its mythology, and that now it'll be all about action, things that need to be done, the NOW! When I saw PushI thought that SH movies were those offering the more possibilities of exploration of visual imagination, they're offering the most amazing cinematographic opportunities.
Push first hour is absolutely amazing, I love the fact that the story takes place in Hong Kong, the scene of the Fish Market is a must see! At some point, alas, the film slowed down, but I strongly recommend it, it's also a very good alternative to mainstream imagination and lack of sensitivity when it comes to action! I must say that the public applauded at the end!

Depuis le début de cette année 2009 la masse de films de super héros est impressionnante: Spirit, Push et maintenant Watchmen, c'est beaucoup pour seulement deux mois et demi ( et je suis gentille). Je suis allée voir Push à l'aveugle, l'affiche ne me donnait pas envie, mais comme il n'y avait rien de passionnant cette semaine là, j'y suis allée et ai adoré!
Le scenario se rapproche assez de celui de la série Heroes, c'est à dire que nos héros sont autant des victimes que des surhommes et qu'ils sont menacés. Bien qu'il reprenne des thématiques évoquées récemment, ce film ne se complait pas dans le postmodernisme et les citations. Il part d'un point neutre et visiblement trés cinématographiquement à la mode ces temps-ce: Hong Kong!
La couleur est donnée dès le début tout va se passer maintenant, dans le présent, et l'energie de ces héros pales copies de parents plus doués (mais morts ou enfermés) va devenir l'intérêt profond du film! En le voyant je n'ai pas pu m'empêcher de penser à quel point les films de super heros sont une mine d'idées visuelles pour le cinéma, et l'ultra spectaculaire scène du marché aux poissons m'a cathartiquement laissée sur le cul... bref j'ai pris mon pied! En revanche à un certain moment le rythme est retombé, et l'enthousiasme légérement aussi, mais cela n'a pas empêché le public d'applaudir un film, hélas, relégué dès sa première semaine de sortie dans les cinémas de seconde zone! Je crois que je vais prendre un abonnement à la seconde zone.
