Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas la musique de Sigur Rós, je dirais ceci: pour moi il s'agit du son créé par des humains qui se rapproche le plus de l'apaisement que peu donner le silence, les bruits de la nature, de la mer, cette impression de calme qui monte en nous dès qu'on s'allonge sur une pelouse, une plage, qu'on marche dans un chemin de feuilles mortes, ou que l'on colle son dos à l'écorce d'un arbre.

Ecouter cette musique quand on est en contact avec la nature provoque un sentiment profond d'harmonie, une justification de l'existence au monde. Le murmure continu des pensées parasites s'interrompt et on est alors présent dans l'instant.

Heima veut dire à la maison en islandais et ce documentaire musical, est le film de la tournée libre, gratuite et improvisée que le groupe a mené afin de redonner à son pays un peu de ce qu'il avait trouvé en parcourant le monde.

Le message de Sigur Rós est écologique. Selon eux : il y a deux types d'êtres humains ceux qui pensent à long terme, et ceux qui veulent faire beaucoup d'argent très vite, sans se soucier des conséquences. Ainsi on ravage un arpent de nature sublime pour faire un barrage, qui permettra à des usines d'extraire l'aluminium dont personne n'a besoin!

Les images sont magiques, la musique est sublime, ce film est un moment de grâce, et lorsque Jón Þór Birgisson, le chanteur à la voix aérienne dit que quand l'harmonie est là, il cesse de penser et qu'il se met à flotter, il met le doigt sur ce que l'on ressent et tout à coup le fardeau du quotidien s'envole.

For those who never listened to the music of Sigur Rós, I would say this: to me it 's the sound created by humans that reach the most the appeasement that silence, the noises of mother nature, and the sound of the ocean can give; this impression of calm that fills us as soon as we lean on grass, on sea sand, when we walk on a path made of dead leaves, or when we stick our back against the bark of tree.

Listening to this music when one feels connected with nature provokes a deep feeling of harmony, a justification of our existence in the world. The continuous chat of parasite thoughts is interrupted, and then we're there, present to the moment.

Heima means Home in Icelandic and this musical documentary is the film of their free and improvised tour to ,sort of, give back a bit of what they found all around the world, to the land they come from.

Sigur Rós music is the ideal soundtrack to being in keeping with nature used here in one of my favourite films:

Their message is ecologic. According to them: there are two types of human beings: those who think on the long range, and those who lust for fast money quickly made without caring for the consequences on nature. Thus a sublime part of the Iceland was ransacked to create a dam, that provides electricity to extract an aluminium that no one would need if this money was used to recycle the one we already used!

The cinematography is magical, the music sublime, this film is a pure moment of grace, and when Jón Þór Birgisson, the singer with the ethereal voice says that when the music is there, he stops thinking and starts to float, he accurately describes what one feels: immediately the burden of everyday life flies away.
